Spinning:

Almost didn't got to Spinning tonight as I felt a little weird in the afternoon at work. Just a little dizzy and puny, can't quite put my finger on it. Also, was a little stressed over getting packed, etc. for this weekend, so it was touch & go right up until about 5:30 when I left my office. Finally decided to go as I didn't know when or if I would be get another chance to workout again until Monday. Class turned out to be surprisingly easy. Don't know if I'm getting better at this, or Tuesday's tough class made this seem like a piece of cake or what, but I came out of there almost feeling a little guilty that I didn't really bust my ass like I should have. Oh well, nice to have a 2nd Spinning class for the week anyway.

Running:

Since I went to Spinning last night in lieu of running class, I was determined to run the routine that had been on the schedule for this week (luckily I have the schedule). It turned out to be another terrible day and I also ended up being a little late first with work and then with some stuff I had to do around here to be ready to go to Boston for this weekend, so the easiest way for me to get my run in was to use the treadmill in the gym here in my apartment building. This week called for intervals of 6 minutes, with only 1.5 minutes of recovery in between (previously, we had been allowed 2 minutes of recovery). Well, I'm happy to say that I managed the intervals relatively easily, and even managed to throw in a bonus interval of 7 minutes at the end. I'm almost afraid to say it but, running on the treadmill tonight seemed much easier than the last time I tried it, about 2 or more weeks ago. Could it be this beginning running program is working? Anyway, next week will have us at intervals of 8 mins, so I'm quite a bit worried about that. I'm especially worried because I will be in Boston this weekend for a certain wedding, so I'll be off my schedule and partying, etc. so I'm not confident that I will get the requisite runs in. But life happens, live with it.

Spinning Class:

I blew off running class because of the torrential downpour and thunderstorms only to find that by the time 5:45 (the time I left work) rolled around that there was a break in the weather. By then I had made the mental switch to Spinning and had also told Ellen & Ken that I would be there, so I followed through with my plans. At least I don't feel like it was any kind of a cop out. That Spinning class was incredibly hard! For the first 20 minutes or so of the class I really doubted my ability to make it through, but somehow I did. My legs feel like hot jelly now. This is actually a good thing.
